Wikiversity

[edit]

I saw your name on the Wikiversity participant's list, you may be very experienced in mathematics already, but I'm trying out instructing a Calculus course if you're interested, go to Wikiveristy, check out the mathematics department, pure mathematics, and in the course list is included Calculus. Interwiki links: thanks

[edit]

I see you are making many interwiki links into WP:ar, which is great because we don't have many people who can do that (and thanks to the interwiki bots other languages than en: will benefit as well).

I noticed two things about the Napoleon I of France interwiki link: You sorted ar before af – it would be nice to have them in alphabetic order. And the article you are linking to only mentions the dates of Napoleon's reign as "Napoleon I of France", but nothing else. Is it possible that there is a separate article on Napoléon Bonaparte in ar:? I just find it odd that neither his date of birth nor his date of death are mentioned. Rl 10:51, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, there was a decision in WP:ar for the duration of August and September, a number of Wikipedians would stress in starting new articles merely as stubs to increase the number of articles in the Wikipedia. And after that, we'd just go on without our usual work to develop those stubs into proper articles. I actually had in mind to get back to Napoleon's article and work on it a bit more when I've got the time. :) --Agari 08:22, August 15, 2005 (UTC)

I've been blocked

[edit]

I realize my ISP number is this: 213.42.2.25. I should have a dynamic one, I think. Someone is using my ISP number. I do hope an admin reads this and unblocks me. This has been the case for a while, I've been waiting to get myself unblocked by time, but this is the second time I notice my ISP number is blocked from editing. --Agari 14:48, 1 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Translation request

Hello, I saw that you are a native speaker of Arabic, so I would like to ask you if you could take a look at 2003 invasion of Iraq and Iraq War. There is a featured article in Arabic which we would like to know how it could be used the English one which is of course dominated by people who have either been there as soldiers or have their knowledge from western media. Someone also asked if the section about "related propaganda and phrases" could be amplified with information about the Iraqi side. Maybe there are also people who took photos in Iraq at the Arabic version? Nameme 14:42, 2 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,

We started a proposal Wikipedia:Wikiethics to state the existing policies coherently and make suggestions on improving the editorial standards in Wiki. I thought you might be interested in contributing to that proposal.

Unfortunately, a pro-porn and pro-offense lobby is trying to make this proposal a failure. They unilaterally started an approval poll although almost no one including me believe that it is time for a vote, simply because the policy is not ready. It is not even written completely.

Editors who thinks that the policy needs to be improved rather than killed by an unfair poll at the beginning of the proposal, started another poll ('Do we really need a poll at this stage?') at the same time. The poll is vandalized for a while but it is stable now. A NO vote on this ('Do we really need a poll now?') poll will strengthen the position of the editors who are willing to improve the ethics policy further.

If you have concerns about the ethics and editorial standards in Wiki, please visit the page Wikipedia:Wikiethics with your suggestions on the policy. We have two subpages: Arguments and Sections. You might want to consider reviewing these pages as well...

Thanks in advance. Resid Gulerdem 21:23, 22 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock Me!

[edit]

My IP address is blocked, thanks to the open proxy Etisalat (the major ISP in the UAE) uses to apply internet censorship.

  • We can't unblock you at this time, because you haven't given us the information we need to even look into your block. You yourself were not blocked; if you were prevented from editing, you must have been autoblocked or blocked because of your IP address. I'm removing your unblock request because there's nothing we can do without this information. If you still want to be unblocked, feel free to add the {{unblock}} tag back to this page, and be sure to include the message you saw when you tried to edit, including the IP address. This is what the message looks like. Without that information, we can't help you. ЯEDVERS 10:14, 12 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Where are you from

[edit]

Hi! Which country are you from? If you're a Lebanese, since your Arabic is good, I would like you to visit this website (since we're looking for Lebanese - and even non-Lebanese - to help improve Lebanon-related articles):

Also consider going to the English version by clicking here

Notability of QWords.org

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on QWords.org, by 74.220.207.95, another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because QWords.org is an article about a certain website, blog, forum, or other web content that does not assert the importance or significance of that web location. Please read our criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 7 under Articles, as well as notability guidelines for websites. Please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting QWords.org, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate QWords.org itself. Feel free to leave a message on the bot operator's talk page if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot. --Android Mouse Bot 2 02:32, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Arabic Name of Dubai Creek

[edit]

I have noticed that you recently added the Arabic names to many articles dealing with Dubai. I just created an article for Dubai Creek and I was wondering if you could add the Arabic name of Dubai Creek to the article. Also, if you want to, please feel free to add to the Dubai Creek article. Thank you. Leitmanp 01:20, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Dubai communities

[edit]

Hi there, thanks for updating some of the information on Dubai's communities. I've noticed that you've added some info on Bu Kadra and Al Murar. Since all information on Wikipedia needs to be properly sourced, could you add a reference to where you obtained this information? See WP:REF for information on how to cite sources on Wikipedia; alternatively, I'd be happy to help with that if you could just give me the links to the source(s). Thanks AreJay (talk) 21:20, 27 September 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to ARS!

[edit]

Hi, Agari, welcome to the Article Rescue Squadron WikiProject! We are a growing community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to identifying and rescuing articles and content that have been nominated for deletion. Every day hundreds of articles are deleted, many rightfully so. But many concern notable subjects and are poorly written, ergo fixable, and should not be deleted. We try to help these articles and content to quickly improve and address the concerns of why they are proposed for deletion. This covers a lot of ground and your help is appreciated!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask on the talk page, and we will be happy to help you.

And once again — Welcome! Addbot (talk) 00:00, 7 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello Agari. I notice that you are interested in Sufism. I have put forth a request on the Reward Board for assistance in bringing the Sufi Saints of South Asia article to at least B-class. All meaningful contributors will get barnstars. The article is in dire need of being developed. It is an important article in relation to the Islam in South Asia. Please help in developing the article. Regards--Shahab (talk) 06:31, 26 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Igreja Mundial do Poder de Deus has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

WP:NOTABILITY not established

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
