Hey there, I saw you put a lot of text into the history of the Ceredigion, I was wondering where it's all from because it mentions Encyclopedia Britannia at the top. (You might want to read Wikipedia:Cite sources - it's important we have references so everything is verifiable!)

I was thinking perhaps we should split the text up slightly, most of it relates to Cardigan or Cardiganshire - the first constituency with the name Ceredigion was created in 1997.

I hope I have this right, if not then HELP! The iniital comment from the Enclyopedia Brittianica is from the CD - Rom version, however the rest of the article comes from my own research using a book that is only available in print in the UK.

The constituency of Ceredigion has the following history:

1832 - 1885 Ceredigion County and Borough 1885 - 1983 Ceredigion County (known as Cardiganshire in English) 1983 - 1992 Ceredigion and Pembroke North 1997 - 2005 Ceredigion

Thanks for the reply! (By the way, you can sign comments you make by typing ~~~~) - I think the official name for the constituency was Cardigan/Cardiganshire rather than Ceredigion. What I suggest is having articles on Cardiganshire which would cover the history of the Cardiganshire constituency 1832-1983, an article on Cardigan which would cover the Cardigan borough constituency 1832-1885 and an article on Ceredigion and Pembroke North which would cover the 1983-1992 period. From 1997 onwards we should use the Ceredigion article. This way it's clear for everyone, the official names would be used because I suspect that's what he'd have been called, and also refered to in the Commons, splitting it up like this would make sure everything is clear. I've moved some of the biographical details of the MPs to their own articles, by the way. Oh, lastly, we need to make sure we cite sources so the information is verifiable! Hello, Harry Hayfield. Thanks for your inquiry. According to Kate's Tool, you currently have 158 edits, several of which were made after the start of the elections (January 9). I double-checked this manually, counting your edits, and the number prior to January 9 was indeed less than 150. The suffrage rules state that a voter must have registered prior to September 30 and made more than 150 edits by the start of the election (January 9); thus, you do not have suffrage in this election. While I understand your frustration (I myself was denied suffrage in the last Board election) and the possible confusion of the last-minute rule change (the 150 edit requirement was added on the day before the elections started, something which I opposed), there's nothing I can do about it. Dunfermline and West Fife by-election, 2006

Just a note about the line you put in the by-election article: "As the date has now been set for February 9th 2006, I will post tomorrow the actual moving of the writ from Hansard." Comments like this - in the first person and about potential changes to the article - should be in the edit summary or on the talk page, but not in the article itself. Page move

Hi Harry. Your page move from Moray (Scottish Parliament constituency) to Moray by-election 2006 puzzled me as the two subjects are very different, and there is already an article for the by-election at Moray by-election, 2006 which will expand as the by-election continues (cf. Dunfermline and West Fife by-election, 2006 and Dunfermline and West Fife (UK Parliament constituency)). Consequently, I've suggested on the article Talk page that the article be moved back to Moray (Scottish Parliament constituency) and that Moray by-election 2006 be redirected to Moray by-election, 2006. Missing Calculations

I think if you put a source to the calculations for the Boundary Changes in the article, that should be alright.

My fear is the next UK general election article is now spreading somewhat wide and may have to be cut down once your sourced section goes in. I may put a note on the article's talk page to ask for ideas on how to keep the article within reasonable, er, boundaries =)

Next United Kingdom general Election

Thanks for the input to the UK general election page, but I think the Target list is perhaps too much...The article is already too large as it is, and if you include three of four tables per party, it's going to get quite difficult to manage.

Can I request you include just the top 10 targets for each party? I am going to move the boundary stuff to a new page to avoid the size issues. I think you should do something with the target tables to help keep the article managable

I do know we have articles on every MP who has sat in Parliament since 1959 (save for three, which should be completed fairly soon), but a lot of these are fairly useless stubs that merely give dates of birth and death, party, and constituency represented. Sammy Wilson (former DUP MP for Antrim East) was duly nominated yesterday as Sammy Samuel in the official documentation released by the Electoral Office of Northern Ireland. Hello!

Welcome to the first regenerated issue of The Space-Time Telegraph, the official newsletter of WikiProject Doctor Who. We hope it finds you well in your safe travels across the Whoniverse! This newsletter was founded in 2008 and seemed to get lost in the time vortex quite quickly. Thanks to the Doctor dragging Sutekh through the time vortex and bringing life by bringing death to death (yeah... I'm a little confused too), it seems to have regenerated. The writing staff hopes to bring you future editions quarterly.
For this first edition, we have created an updated version of our mailing list that includes any active editors who previously had their usernames included in our participants list. If you do not wish to receive future editions, please remove your name from the mailing list. If you no longer wish to participate in the project, please also remove your name from the participants list.
I think that's enough about the newsletter for now. Let's dive into interesting things happening within the Doctor Who side of Wikipedia. Geronimooooo.....

Big Spike in Productivity

During 2024, the project has scored 8 GAs, 2 FLs and a GT, up from last year's 4 GAs and a GT. Several additional things are in the pipeline, with a bunch of things currently having been nominated with some mix of OlifanofmrTennant, TheDoctorWho, and Pokelego999 having their names attached to them. Allow me to look into the nominees.
  1. Series 14: As of July 18th, every single episode has been sent to GAN, with "Boom", "73 Yards", and "The Devil's Chord" having made it to GA.
  2. 2023 Specials: Early in the year, as part of trying to not lose the WikiCup, Ollie sent "The Star Beast" (still salty about the move) to GAN. It was reviewed by frequent collaborator (fly high) of hers, but failed. She then fixed it up and sent it back where it passed. Later "The Giggle" was expanded and sent to GA, followed shortly by "Wild Blue Yonder". WBY received help by JustAnotherCompanion, a pretty fresh user. This other companion chose not to be listed as co-nom. A page was created for "Destination: Skaro" and quickly got GA status.
  3. The Daleks' Master Plan was also sent to GAN by Rhain. It passed to join Rhain's other First Doctor content, being the fourth season three article to get the green check.
  4. Peter Capaldi: The filmography and newly created awards of Capaldi were both sent to FLC and passed. Capaldi's main page was sent to GA, though due to some minor incompetence on the part of the nominator it was failed.

Proposals to the WikiProject

A recent proposal at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Doctor Who suggested potential improvements and suggestions for the main page of the project, as well as discussions about the project overall. The proposals are as follows:
  1. The Task Forces section should be removed due to inactivity in the Torchwood Task Force, and a lack of significant interest in creating further Task Forces.
  2. The freenode channel no longer works and should be removed due to most discussion taking place on site.
  3. Due to the low quality of Lungbarrow and Jubilee despite being sample articles, these articles should either be removed as samples or improved. Additionally, the "sample device" has a very small application field, and should be removed from the sample articles section.
  4. An updates infobox should be included, similarly to those used by Wikipedia:VGCHAR.
  5. Radio Times's Doctor Who sections should be included in the references section due to their benefits for the project sourcing wise.
  6. The Deletion Discussion archive should be removed, or have work invested in updating it, due to its lack of updates.

Discussions of Note
