Merger of singles

[edit]

It has been suggested that A Movie Script Ending, I Was a Kaleidoscope and We Laugh Indoors be merged into this article or section.
There is no need to have those pages. They all three definitely fail WP:MUSIC, but instead of outright deletion they can be expanded here.--The Jacobin (talk) 06:13, 26 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Considering that they're officially released singles, I think it's perfectly fine that they have their own pages. Egg_Creations (talk) 22:27, 9 November 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It seems to me that the standard is singles get their own pages. I do not think they should be merged. -Austin G (talk) 10:37, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I don't think a song should be merged in with it's band's album pages. I think users want to research specific songs to perhaps view the possible interpretations of a song or even view it's references in books, media, etc, the same way some book pages on Wikipedia are referenced. --LiteratureAdore (talk) 04:29, 11 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep it. I agree with previous comments. There's too much information to be merged to the album article and enough information to have separate articles. Anrod (talk) 09:54, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Older discussions

[edit]

Why I made it a redirect: individual entries for albums are probably not the best idea, especially when they contain common phrases and/or were not the landmark releases by those bands. I have taken all content from this article and put it into the Death Cab for Cutie article, so it has been preserved. Geogre 00:44, 22 Aug 2004 (UTC) Previous content was as follows: The fifth album from indie band Death Cab For Cutie. Contains tracks:

01. Steadier Footing 02. A Movie Script Ending 03. We Laugh Indoors 04. Information Travels Faster 05. Why You'd Want To Live Here 06. Blacking Out The Friction 07. I Was A Kaleidoscope 08. Styrofoam Plates 09. Coney Island 10. Debate Exposes Doubt

Barsuk

[edit]
It, like the rest of the band's work, was released on Barsuk Records.

I think there were some pre-Barsuk releases. I'm not sure though, I'm not lucky enough to have them ;-)

Fair use rationale for Image:DeathCabPhotoAlbum.jpg

[edit]

Image:DeathCabPhotoAlbum.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:28, 3 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
