County's founding

[edit]

Madera County was formed of the northern portion of Fresno County which itself had earlier been formed out of a portion of southern Mariposa County. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.118.100.146 (talk) 22:19, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Changing Things Up A Bit

[edit]

On the advice of another Wikipedian (vegaswikipedian), I'm about to change things up a bit, and do some re-organization on the county pages. As Cities and Towns fall better under the Geography heading, and Major Highways fall better under their own Transportation header, we'll try that, and see how it looks. I'll start right here with the Madera County page, as I am a native of the area, and then branch out from here. Edit Centric 01:44, 13 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

You know, I was initially going to revert the addition of the Genweb link, but got to thinking that it WOULD speak a lot about the history and people that have lived in the county since its inception. So, changing my mind on this one, it stays. Edit Centric (talk) 17:50, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Demographics Section Updated with 2020 Census Data

[edit]

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I've updated the Demographics section with data from the 2020 Census, incorporating comparisons between county, state, and national statistics to provide a comprehensive overview. All edits were made with a focus on maintaining a neutral point of view. Additionally, I added a table titled "Madera County, California - Places by Population, Income, and Employment" to visually summarize these comparisons. --Guywelch2000 (talk) 17:52, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Removal of Outdated Table

[edit]

I've removed the 2011 table titled "Places by Population, Race, and Income" from the article. This decision was based on the table's outdated information, which has been superseded by the more recent 2022 census data now included on the page. Additionally, the table lacked proper headers, making it difficult to interpret. This update ensures that readers have access to the most current and readable data.--Guywelch2000 (talk) 17:59, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Human History Added

[edit]

I've updated the history section to incorporate a segment on human history, tracing Madera County's narrative from its origins with Native Peoples through a century and a half of migration and immigration. This revision was meticulously researched, supported by numerous citations, and crafted to maintain a neutral point of view. I welcome edits, addition and feedback. --Guywelch2000 (talk) 18:07, 11 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Update to Lead Section

[edit]

I have created, updated, and expanded the lead paragraphs to reflect the latest updates made to the page. This includes incorporating new demographic information, economic data, and geographic details to provide a comprehensive overview of Madera County, California. Please review the changes for accuracy and completeness. Feedback and further edits are welcome.--Guywelch2000 (talk) 02:10, 12 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
