  • New York, NY, USA (Statue on top of the "red square" apartment building on East Houston St. and Avenue A)

This isnt right:

I am from Ukraine and there are many statues of Lenin in villages, and smaller towns, were most of them remain, infact in every former Soviet republic with the exeption of the Baltic states there are still many statues of Lenin in rural locations

Is there a Lenin statue in Antarctica? Oxyman 02:06, 21 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, apparently. I've updated the article.--Pharos 02:03, 16 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Towns and cities named after Lenin?

[edit]

What about a similar list? Tabletop 02:23, 23 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Answer my own question!

See List of places named after Lenin.

The biggest one

[edit]

Dubna one is said to be 15m or 25m (w-w/o pedestal?), and Volgograd's is said to be 30m pedestal and 27m statue. Is Dubna's really "the largest"? --ssr (talk) 00:58, 15 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

List Addition

[edit]

Hi, was reading around, and in the article for Svalbard, (kingdom of Norway), there is a photograph of their Lenin statue, which is not listed here. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Spitz_18_(4).JPG Anyone more qualified than myself want to add this to whatever is the appropriate section on the list? 137.99.77.160 (talk) 21:00, 17 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Speaking about additions, there must be more Lenin statues in Russia than just two. 85.217.50.138 (talk) 21:51, 24 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Two points: (1.) Following the guidelines of the Manual of Style for lists, we should uses colons rather than dashes in list entries. (2) Are links to cities without any information about the statues (as in the Belarus section) helpful? I personally think they are unnecessary. Quae legit (talk) 23:52, 20 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Important"?

[edit]

We're told "Important regions and capital cities of countries are highlighted in bold." Who decides what makes a region "important"? Surely that's completely subjective. Or - this has just occurred to me - is the writer misusing "important" in one of its French meanings (which it never has in English), namely "large" (something which can of course be measured)?84.243.236.9 (talk) 14:32, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tajikistan section

[edit]

What is going on in the Tajikistan section of this article? Particularly, the line about the Lenin statue in Dushanbe being replaced with "a statue of Rudaki, Khujand, Nurak, Faizobod[citation needed]"

This sentence makes little sense, as Rudaki is a person, while Kujand, Nurak, and Faizobod are cities. I don't know why these three cities were included in this line: did the editor mean to put them in separate lines afterwards?

Also, I'm not sure which the "[citation needed]" is referring to. Does it mean a citation is needed for the Rudaki statue in Dushanbe, just the last three cities, all four of these cities, or just Faizobod? I'm not sure.
