The First Content Ever Added To This Talk Page

[edit]

Other sites are stealing information from Wikipedia wholesale and I can't believe no one around here gives a damn!

Look: http://www.free-definition.com/Jonti-Picking.html They even left text with "Wikipedia" in it!

Er, yeah, I dunno if you are aware of this, but all wikipedia content is licensed under the GNU FDL, and therefore its perfectly acceptable to copy it (given conditions) ... dullard.

Merger? No!

[edit]
The following discussion is closed. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section. A summary of the conclusions reached follows.
I'm closing this as no consensus to merge in accordance with Wikipedia:Merging#Step_4:_Close_the_merger_discussion_and_determine_consensus. The last comment in this discussion was from December 2007, and the article has changed significantly since then. A more recent AfD was closed as keep, and one commenter noted that it was "reasonably notable" and the other, while keeping open the idea of merging, noted that the list consisted of "well-known cartoons often featured in media and on popular websites. I'm new to this, so if I'm doing this wrong, please let me know! I might be a bit too verbose when I get started with these. L235 (t / c / ping in reply) 00:10, 9 December 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article Weebl's cartoons has too much information in it to allow for a merger, unless various info is cut out.

The Best Reason for Separate Articles:

If the Weebls cartoons page was merged into the Jonti Picking page, viewers of his animations that didn't know his name would not be able to get info about his other animations, AND HIS NAME.

If the Jonti Picking page was merged into the Weebls page then it would probably be too bloated. Plus, wouldn't the Weebl entry need to be listed first in case an internet searcher typed in Weebl, and then gets dumped onto a "Jonti Picking" page?

How would that support search engine relevancy?

In my opinion, merging seems to hold many more disadvantages than separate pages with a link.

What's wrong with just using a link from his name to his name page? I checked this link, and it works!!

Again, I'd say disagree to merging and keep this article - there's so much info on his cartoons on the other page that it seems sensible to split the page about himself off from the various animations from his web page. The links asking about article merger have been there for a long time now - any chance of removing them? C2r 09:50, 2 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Don't merge the articles, they're separate things, stop coming up with insane ideas because you admins are bored. 81.101.229.176 22:02, 3 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

There's no reason to merge the two articles, they are different subjects. There are articles on skoo and other animators, and just because he's the main man on the site doesn't mean he should be a subheading of something. Leave the articles seperate. 86.43.197.83 19:10, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • In Favour There's no real content on the Weebl's Toons article. In fact that article is made up almost entirely of paragraphs which are simply explanations (original research?) of the Toons which you can get by a) visiting weebls-stuff website and b) watching the Toons yourself. Having them all listed and described (many of the Toons of which are not notable in and of themselves) is like having an article explaining all the various movies available at somewhere like newgrounds.com or having articles for every YouTube video ever made. The more notable shows like Webbl and Bob deserve their own articles but we don't need a text explanation of every Weebl Toon ever made. Link to the website and let people find out for themselves. This is starting to become like Pokemon and we all know what happened to those articles... Yay unto the Chicken (talk) 23:40, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Elvis or Willis

[edit]
"He is also an admitted fan of Elvis, Wesley Willis, and used his music in the cartoon "Merry Christmas"[1]."

Used whose music? Also, it should say "Elvis and Wesley Willis,".202.53.198.81 (talk) 20:42, 19 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Resident Evil

[edit]

I suggest that the Resident Evil comment be removed. For starters there's no citation. Secondly, it wasn't Jonti but one of his co-workers at Sumo Dojo Productions that did the CGI for all of the wire-frame overviews of the Hive. It was on the old website, but the information isn't there any more. I will contact Sumo Dojo in order for them to clarify this.

Weebl's Stuff article

[edit]

I think it's rather silly that there's pages for Jonti, the cartoons, Badgers, On the moon, etc, but the page for Weebl's Stuff, which everything revolves around, keeps getting deleted and redirected here. Weebl's Stuff at the moment, is not just Jonti but several other animators and staff, which have produced various commercial work and is rather noticeable. I think it more than deserves its own article. Wonchop (talk) 22:52, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Added Admittedly-Bull**** Section Header To Inaugural Edits

[edit]

The unsigned comments (now) in the section "The First Content Ever Added To This Talk Page" represent the first and third edits to this talk page, and were originally dropped in bare, at the page level. I stuck a section header on them so that the Contents box would slide up above that text, where (I'd argue) it belongs. This seems, to me, to be acceptable per WP:TALKO. Anyone, but especially the editors who originally posted those comments, should feel free to revert if you find this objectionable. FeRD_NYC (talk) 05:33, 19 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Savlonic Redirect?

[edit]

Why does Savlonic redirect here? Not only is he not a member of the band, but there's literally no mention of them on this page, so it's a useless redirect. Irockz (talk) 03:15, 21 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Just noticed this too. I see no reason for the redirect to exist. --Liam McM (Talk|Contribs) 13:47, 17 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
