Can the following sentences:

-'Many animal species, including birds and fish, experience yawning' Be changed to 'Almost all vertebrate animals, including mammals, birds, reptiles, amphibians, and even fish, experience yawning.' -'A yawn is a reflex consisting of the simultaneous inhalation of air and the stretching of the eardrums, followed by an exhalation of breath.' Be changed to: 'A yawn is a reflex lasting 4-7 seconds, and is characterized by a long inspiratory phase with gradual mouth gaping, followed by a brief climax (or acme) with muscle stretching, and a rapid expiratory phase with muscle relaxation. [1][2] For fsh and birds, this is described as gradual mouth gaping, staying open for at least 3 s and subsequently a rapid closure of the mouth. [3]

  • This is a more accurate defenition of a yawn and animals that perform yawning. Stretching the eardrums is only a small part of the yawn and refers to one specific hypothesis (middle ear clearing). This is considered a side-effect by many scientists in the field of yawning, thus I would not state it in the defenition. "Relation to empathy" citations.

[edit]

There were a few statements in the section about empathy that weren't sourced, particularly related to whether autistic people struggle with empathy.

I added citation needed tags, but I'm not an experienced Wikipedian so feel free to remove them if they aren't relevant.

Also, I feel like it's unclear what kind of empathy is being discussed. Squoop (talk) 11:17, 18 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A knife stuck in the head of a yawning three-year-old turns me on sexually

[edit]

If something yawns, I'm there to kill it. I've been carrying a penknife in my pocket for four years. I live in Bełchatów (Poland, Lodz Province), if I see something oscitating, i.e. filthy yawning, I'll simply kill it with this penknife, whether it's a child, an old man or a woman, there's no way it'll escape the sting of justice. Similarly, when someone says the word m*racle, they simply cut its throat. Some old woman said the last one "what a won*erful" dog, a moment later you can hear an ambulance. It was on June 19th in Oława, I was there with my son, where I taught him manliness, I also throw stones at goats. My website about goat slaughter is kozobojcy blogspot . com (now not works for sometime) type it into google or something. I guarantee you safety from filth, no one will yawn without paying the highest price for it, no one will say a filthy word without an agony scream, no man will go to bed earlier than a woman, eat less than her and dress warmer, because I will fu...ing stab you, do you understand that?! At one o'clock, the chicks are supposed to sleep, and the guys should not dare, because blood will be shed. Males are supposed to sleep less than eight hours, females more, I f..cking advise them, than eight hours, no one has the right to yawn, goats have no right to live, they must be slaughtered.

Moreover, dogs cannot be owned as pets, but only used by the services and treated as objects. Men are obliged to curse more than women, because defective individuals will pay for it with their lives. I will sign under these words even with my blood. --Yawners' Cleaner (talk) 14:50, 31 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
