Market Picture

[edit]

The market picture in the article is IMHO a bit too much. There are many pics on the net of Buja's central market and not one other picture concentrates mainly on a pile of garbage. I know this is a city in a very poor developing country, but why put in such photos? You can find piles of trash in almost every city if you look close enough, yet few such pics or on Wikipedia. IMHO this is very unacademic behaviour to put such pics in. This is a Panoramio picture of the market: http://static.panoramio.com/photos/original/595411.jpg Something like this would be much more appropriate. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 77.253.107.160 (talk) 23:04, 2 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Pronunciation

[edit]

The English-language pronunciation given is buːdʒəmˈbʊərə, which was changed at some point from buːdʒəmˈbu:rə. This seems like a change to a standard American pronunciation to me, and I can't actually find any evidence that in Burundi it's pronounced any way other than bʊdʒəmˈbʊrə or bʊ'dʒʊmbʊrə. So I have changed it to these. (One example of these pronunciations in close proximity to each other is at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y2q45I5qc-M, 1'10" to about 1'35". I realise CCTV is probably not the best reference but it is at least a reference!) 79.77.54.149 (talk) 11:29, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Census result 2019

[edit]

Does anybody have a source for the 2019 census result? I can't find anything and wonder where the population figure of 1,092,859 (more than twice of the official census result for 2008!) comes from.--Colomen (talk) 09:36, 12 November 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Kirundi pronunciation

[edit]

The first sentence of this article currently gives the Kinyarwanda pronunciation, but it should give the Kirundi pronunciation. I know that Kinyarwanda and Kirundi are very closely related (sometimes considered varieties of one language) – is the pronunciation in the article also correct for Kirundi? If so, we can just change "rw" to "rn" in the template. If not, we should replace it with the Kirundi pronunciation. —Mx. Granger (talk · contribs) 15:53, 10 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
