I always thought the demonstration that the quotient rule was a consequence of the product rule was more parsimonious than the limit version. Cyan 06:47 Apr 18, 2003 (UTC)

The Quotient Rule is a proper name Pizza Puzzle

Why is it that g(x) must be nonzero? Shouldn't it be h(x), since that's the function in the denominator? --bdesham 20:51 18 Jun 2003 (UTC)

I think you're right, but it's been a long time since I took calculus, so hopefully someone else can confirm. Mathworld mentions this rule briefly, but does not mention constraints. Seems to me that g(x) could easily be 0, though. -- Wapcaplet 21:00 18 Jun 2003 (UTC)
