Central Michigan does not own the trademark to CMU. Do a search on USPTO's trademark website to prove it to yourself. Please stop propogating the false statement.

I agree with Andres. :) Your edit that the copyright issue was a "myth" was way out of line and non-NPOV. I think the current version (comment "wait--this is better") is NPOV and accurate, except for the "Carnegie Mellon tried to trademark CMU" anecdote, which I hadn't heard; feel free to clarify. Look at the page history; this war has been going back and forth since August.
Furthermore, regardless of whether or not Central Mich owns the trademark, it's certainly verifiable that (1) Central Mich say they do, and (2) Carnegie Mellon agrees with them. Happy New Year. —ajo, 1 Jan
In the same paragraph, they claim the word "Central" as a trademark. I'm not sure how seriously I would take this claim. --Daniel 19:03, 13 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]
