Hello, welcome to Wikipedia. You seem to know your way around pretty well already, even using "db" instead of "deletebecause" (and you also know the cases for CSD). Hmm...  :-) You probably don't need to read the tutorial and you probably already know that you can sign your name using four tildes (~~~~). I'm sure you don't need a link to the Sandbox and you already know about the Community Portal. Hehe... You keep beating me to the punch on New Pages, tagging the nonsense before I can. BTW, I learned from you -- I've been typing "deletebecause" but now I know I can just use "db" instead. Thank you. How long have you been around? In case I've misjudged and you are relatively new here, please feel free to ask any questions either at the help desk or on my talk page. :-) SWAdair | Talk 05:42, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Thanks for the welcome. :) I've only been here since yesterday and I really like Wikipedia. I did scan around the site and familiarized myself with how to do some of the things. :) I still have to read a bit more on the ins and outs of the site. I did beat you to the punch on some of the deletes... lol. I just don't like to see silly entries in the wikipedia. I read your user page and see that you're a Libertarian too. Cool! :) --Vortexfugue 08:28, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Since YESTERDAY?!?

[edit]

Wow, you really pick up on things quickly. I'm glad to see someone jump into helping out as much as you have. I've rearranged the order of the posts on this page to get you familiarized with the custom here -- new posts usually go at the bottom of a talk page unless specified otherwise. A few pages (Vandalism in progress, Copyright problems, etc.) want new posts at the top, but on almost every other talk page the custom is for new messages to go at the bottom. One thing I've noticed is the large number of Libertarians on this site. It seems that we make up a disproportionate percentage of the most active editors. I wonder why.  :-) I'll see you around Wikipedia. Happy editing! SWAdair | Talk 10:01, 1 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Twin

[edit]

I know who you are. You're me! I just saw you quickly tag another speedy and noticed your username was no longer red. When I checked your user page I was flabbergasted. The similarities are eerie. I was Army, but almost everything else describes me, including every one of the "Interests." Even the favorite movies -- I loved Becket, but most people have never heard of it. Heh... you're my twin. Eerie

[edit]

Now that is very eerie indeed! LOL. I must've watched Becket about a dozen times over the years, it's simply the best movie ever... hands down! Nope, most people have never heard of it. The dialogue in the movie is just too rich, I can quote whole parts of O'Toole's lines. :) That's truly amazing that almost all my interests are the same as yours... lol. When I was doing the internal links I noted that there isn't one yet for my favorite god, Q, in the Wikipedia... maybe I'll create one. :) For a god that can hurl a starship clean across the universe has to be a favorite in my book... lol. --Vortexfugue 09:20, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • A lot of article titles have disambiguation qualifiers in parenthesis. In this case "Q" by itself would probably indicate an article about the letter, so I checked for Q with "Star Trek" in parenthesis. Sure enough -- Q (Star Trek). SWAdair | Talk 09:42, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Yup, I just found the actual Q page on Wiki and so edited my user page, I was about to edit this one too. :) --Vortexfugue 09:57, 2 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Classic Rock

[edit]

Hello. I was wondering if you would like to participate in my classic rock survey. I'm trying to find the most liked classic rock song. There is more information on my user page. Hope you participate! RENTASTRAWBERRY FOR LET? röck 02:59, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]
