Oh well. I don't want to reignite the old CTOP, but measures of intelligence across countries like this have always been controversial, if not fringe, and presenting a "list of countries by IQ" as a factual-looking article is probably not the best way to tackle it. Delete. I'm also concerned about there being some WP:FRINGE in this article because IQ tests and their accuracy are debated and there may have been many different factors in how the countries determined the average IQs of their citizens, which might make the comparison between them inaccurate. I also don't think that this meets WP:GNG because there really isn't any significant coverage of the average IQ in countries in ASEAN specifically; all of the data is taken from lists of the average IQ in countries around the world. Delete Coverage appears to be mainly reporting of fight results and announcements. That doesn't meet WP:GNG. Despite the claims of many titles, WP:NBOX is not met. The UBO is one of many minor boxing organizations so that title shows nothing for WP notablilty. Since the article says he's won WBA and WBC titles I looked up those organization's heavyweight rankings to see if he's in the top 10. The WBC shows 3 champions and the top 40 contenders[2] and the WBA shows 2 champions and the top 15 contenders[3]. Atlantica (trade zone)

A quick google search reveals that this term is used for many things, meaning I couldn't discern if it even deserved to be the primary topic. Intriguingly, most of the sources online were only mentioning it as if it were real, which compromises their usage. Probably needs some "according to" etc. given that we are inevitably dealing with historical accounts. Delete. Per nom. Can't find any mention of this in reliable (English) secondary sources, so it's certainly not a major or noteworthy engagement. Ibn al-Athir (The Complete History) and al-Idrisi (quoted in text) are primary sources, so even if there's no WP:OR involved here (which I'm not confident about), its mere mention in primary sources, in the absence of any mentions in secondary sources, means it doesn't meet WP:GNG. It's not easy to research this topic as most of the Arabic-language texts I can access e.g. via Google Books don't seem to support text selection (to check translation). However I found the following paper in the Algerian Historical Journal (for example) via a quick search for معركة سبيبة (Battle of Sebiba) https://www.asjp.cerist.dz/en/article/224926

I'm not sure how Ibn al-Athir can be considered a primary source in this context? He wasn't born until 95 years after this battle took place and he doesn't appear to have been directly connected to either of the combatant tribes. I found a French translation of Ibn al-Athir which is a bit more accessible to me at least. There is a whole section devoted to this battle, the context and its aftermath so it does seem fairly significant. Quick Google translation below of an extract:

"Then the Riyâh' and the Zenâta all set out together, and on his side En-Naçir having advanced at the head of the Çanhȧdja, the Zenâta and the Benoû Hilal, the two armies met [ P. 31 ] near the town of Sebiba ( 1 ) . Following the charge which the Riyâh' and El-Moʻizz made respectively against the Benoû Hilal and the Zenâta, these last two groups fled, and the troops of En-Naçir imitated their example. The fugitives were pursued with swords at their backs, and twenty-four thousand Çanhâdja and Zenâta were massacred. El-K'ȧsim ben 'Alennâs (2) , brother of En-Nåçir, was also killed, but the latter himself was able to flee with a small number of his men. The Arabs thus became masters of a rich booty consisting of everything that belonged to the vanquished, money, weapons, horses, etc., the sharing of which was carried out as agreed. This affair completed the Arabs' complete mastery of the country; having arrived without resources, poor and having very few horses, they then found themselves rich, abundantly provided with weapons and mounts, in the presence of a country almost without defenders. They sent the standards, the drums, the tents of En-Nâçir and the horses they contained, to Temim, who sent them back to them, saying that it would be shameful for him to seize the spoils of his cousin. The Arabs greatly appreciated this act of generosity."

"La défaite de Sabîba (1065), qui fait au Magrib Central pendant à celle de Haydarân, constraint bientôt al-Nâsir d'abandonner la Qal'a pour Bougie, qu'il vient de fonder (1068-9). Vannée suivante, il conclut avec Tamïm une paix que lui et ses successeurs respecteront jusqu'à la mort de Tamïm (1108)."

This is another secondary source that ascribes significance to the event. Definitely enough for GNG in my view. The article needs a lot of work, I will see what I can do to bring it up to scratch if retained or moved to Draft space.

Thanks for looking. That last source (Baadj 2015) is the only one that gives me pause about notability, but it's still just one book, which doesn't fully solve the WP:GNG problem because you'd have to write most of the article from this single detailed source. (As for Ibn al-Athir and Idrisi, as asilvering notes below they are primary sources in the sense that they are medieval accounts from the same era, so they should be mediated by professional historians.) A quick reading of Baadj's account also makes it clear that this article, as is, would need to be completely re-written to even be understandable. I'd support draftifying at best, if there's a chance a competent editor would rewrite it, but WP:TNT otherwise. R Prazeres (talk) 05:08, 30 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Searching the Arabic name, موقعة سبيبة (the phrase I'm finding in these), finds a number of passing and more-than-passing mentions of the battle and its importance in shifting power at the time. —Carter (Tcr25) (talk) 17:36, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Comment: This probably needs a rename if kept given the name of the wikilinked town used later is "Sbiba". There is also the 1943 Battle of Sbiba and an earlier (824? 825?) battle where the Aghlabid army was routed[5][6]

Lots of people in all walks of life go by their some form of their middle name. This is not an uncommon or poorly understood phenomenon. The sources by and large may verify that the listed person uses their middle name, but that isn't the focus of the coverage, because it simply is not really unusual or noteworthy to do so. There's simply no depth to this, it feels more like random trivia than something one would find in an encyclopedia. Ribbon (band)

An unsourced article about a Japanese pop group. Not to disparage Ribbon, but pop groups are a dime a dozen in Japan. No indication that WP:NBAND is satisfied. Yes, their single Little Date was used as the theme song for a single season of Ranma 1/2, but that would not do it on its own. No indications they charted any singles or otherwise satisfy NBAND. I did review those sources before coming here. As I mentioned above, most of them are without a proper byline, like this article is part of Hub branding and for Indian references it is now well-established that those references are paid/advertisements WP:NEWSORGINDIA. Other articles are mostly about partnerships/warehouse opening which we consider as routine coverage, WP:CORPTRIV. Keep Not all the sources ID'ed at the previous AfD lack a byline. For example, this one: Cruising calmly through rough seas from The Business Times (Singapore) was authored by Vivien Ang, its chief sub-editor. The group has received plenty of coverage, some in context of its subsidiaries:

Comment - Despite the title of the article, the contents are clearly covering the actual book series, rather than the main character. If there are enough sources to build a reception section, I would be fine with the article simply being renamed to "Aberystwyth Noir" and cleaned up a bit. I just did a very cursory search and didn't find a whole lot covering the series as a whole, but it seems like the individual books got some reviews. How does a college short film that is screened at its own parent company's film festival yield notability? Annapurna College of Film and Media is owned by the same people as Annapurna Studios. The only reliable source is The Hindu which talks about four other short films too, not just this film. The Telugucinema.com source is about the festival and not the film. All other sources are unreliable (not listed as such at Wikipedia:WikiProject_Film/Indian_cinema_task_force#Guidelines_on_sources because there are so many unreliable sources that exist and not possible to list all of them. tollywoodbuzz.com has the same reliability as Tracktollywood.com or Tollywood.net.

Music composition and composers in Pristina

I usually hesitate to nominate disorganized articles filled with information for deletion, hoping there’s something salvageable and not wanting to undermine the effort someone has spent hours or days creating. However, this article appears to function as a kind of WP:COATRACK and contains a lot of poorly written material, along with what I suspect is a significant amount of original research. It seems to have been written about a decade ago by a contributor involved in the "Wiki Academy Kosovo II City Marathon," who may not have adhered to best practices and instead focused on cramming in content.

The article should be divided into multiple standalone ones. I suggest extracting a list of notable subjects—individuals, events, compositions, etc...—both those with existing articles and those without, for further expansion and improvement. I would be happy to take on some of these, and others can be included in any relevant Wikiprojects. The Music of Kosovo and Classical music in Kosovo articles can be enhanced with any quality material from this article, but I don’t believe a topic specifically on "Musical compositions and composers in Pristina" is really warranted. I am nominating this article for deletion as I do not believe that it meets the Wikipedia criteria for notability. In addition, it has had and continues to have a negative impact on the subject of the article and is poorly sourced in many places.

This article was first nominated for deletion in 2007 and later in 2010. At the time, it was argued that Glover did meet the Wikipedia notability criteria. However, a lot has changed since then and she is no longer active in modelling like she was once was.

I believe that given her relative lack of notability, in combination with her personal wishes for it to be removed, that the article should no longer be on Wikipedia as it doing her more harm than good.

There is a lack of reliable sources on Glover's life after 2010 when the article was last nominated for deletion though. And, looking at the sources at least 8 of them, so almost a third are negative. That percentage is quite high given all the positive things she has done since 2010. I agree this article should be deleted. Person in question is no longer in the public eye and original poster has only commented on the negative rather than positives resulting in a negative effect on person in questions mental health.

Keep - If the subject was notable in 2010 she is still notable. Whether the sources present positive or negative information is irrelevant. Some of the sources are difficult to assess right now because archive.org is offline but hopefully that will be resolved soon.

(For the closer, I will also note that both of the delete votes apart from the nom come from accounts that have zero edits other than to this discussion. The nom also has no edits other than to the subject article and to this discussion. The nom mentions the subject's wishes, and the nom and the two delete !voters mention the subject's recent activities, which aren't mentioned in any sources that have been provided, all of which suggests possible COI editing by all three accounts. The article has a recent history of undisclosed COI editing, such as from User:Happiness2018 who is now blocked for COI editing, and from User:82.33.38.46 whose talk page clearly shows COI.) Giorgakis Olympios Museum of Vlach Folklore

As I had written at Talk:Giorgakis Olympios Museum of Vlach Folklore#Notability, I doubt this museum is all too relevant. Serres is outside the traditional homeland of the Aromanians (also known as Vlachs) centered in the Pindus, and also quite far from it. Having read much about the Aromanians, Serres has never appeared to be a center of Aromanian cultural activities in Greece like for example Veria in modern days. The sources talking about this museum seem to be all in Greek, of which I speak nothing, so native speakers of Greek could be more useful in determining the topic's notability. Meanwhile, here's what I've found:

In Google Books, I've found passing mentions of the parent cultural association of the museum [11] [12] [13]. That's it basically. The museum isn't mentioned either in this exhaustive book on the Aromanians by renowed author Asterios I. Koukoudis [14]. In Vlahoi.net, probably the greatest website about the Aromanians in Greece, there is some more information on the association, and the museum is only made passing mentions [15]. In this book hosted on the website, there's some very limited information on the museum: that it was established in 2008, the several sections it has and its objectives [16]. In Google Scholar I've tried a couple word combinations and haven't been able to find anything at all about the museum, and some passing mentions of the parent association. I have tried to find information on the museum on Aromanian websites and magazines, and I haven't been able to find anything, not even mentions of the association, though because I don't speak Aromanian either it is possible something may have slipped, but I doubt it'd be anything big. Finally it is, expectedly, with a regular Google search that I find the most information, but it's all from touristic or government and regional websites [17] [18]. Passing mentions are also to be found in local media, which in theory is reliable [19] [20] [21] [22], but again these articles don't contain much info. Also this museum does not have an entry at museumsofmacedonia.gr, not sure if it is an authoritative source but we have the article Sarakatsani Folklore Museum completely based on this website.

This article was created by a user with only 13 edits, all of them on this page [23]. The museum does not have an article in Greek Wikipedia, it only also does in Bulgarian Wikipedia, which has many low-quality articles on the Aromanians of questionable notability (just click on some biographies here [24] if you're wondering why do I say this). The Giorgakis Olympios Association of Vlachs of Serres, the parent association of this museum, is one of over a hundred of Aromanian associations in Greece which arent individually notable but which are grouped into the Panhellenic Federation of Cultural Associations of Vlachs, so any notable info on the museum could simply be covered in the article about the federation if truly necessary (proof for the association's membership in the federation: [25]). Serres#Places of interest and #Culture or Aromanians in Greece could also cover the few rescuable information that there could be. I see there's few coverage to be found on the museum in reliable sources and that it is hardly notable. Thanks for the heads-up, Super Dromaeosaurus. The museum is indeed outside the traditional area of Vlach settlement, but the association seems to be active and fairly large, and has some info as to how Vlachs spread to the region as the result of merchant activities in the 18th, and Ottoman persecutions in the early 19th century. The museum also appears to be a substantial building. In Google, the Greek name comes up a lot in small news items, but of the 'Sights in Serres' or 'Politician visits Museum' type. Frankly, the museum doesn't appear very notable per WP:GNG, as is the case for many smaller museums. Generally I am not a fan of deletions, but in this case I think just mentioning it in the article on Serres would be enough, as we barely have enough content for a stub either way. Draftify or delete if not improved: The article is extremely sparse at present and everything there is already covered in other articles. But the historical-cultural idea of "northwest India" (as opposed to specifically the Indus Valley, Punjab, etc.) does seem to have some scholarly attention, at least from outsiders: [26], [27]. Keep: This one is a bit borderline, but there's a few sources that I think put her over the line for WP:GNG. The NYT article is not a sole profile but does have quite a bit about her specifically. The HuffPost, Third World America, and Empress sources are individually not in-depth but each offer short profiles of her. There is a lot of enduring coverage that can be found on Newspapers.com as well - This 2007 article and this 2008 article stood out as providing a lot of detail on her work and life. This is actually a second AFD. The outcome of Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Tim Sheehy (American politician) was a strong consensus to redirect, with two "delete"s and no "keep"s. This new article was created as a redirect to the same target [28], on the grounds that in the Timothy Sheehy disambiguation page he's "not a politician yet". Another editor came along a week later and recreated the last article from that new redirect. A Google search for him, minus the word "Senate", turns up no significant coverate in reliable sources as a businessman or a soldier. The US is now three weeks away from a national election, and all of the major candidates are getting heavy press coverage. db-repost was declined, and the declining admin took a straw poll of editors from the last AFD at Talk:Tim Sheehy (businessman), and all have upheld the last consensus so far. So this article should be deleted, as it's really a renamed repost of Tim Sheehy (American politician). If Sheehy wins, then that article should obviously be un-redirected and expanded. The second appears to be a scholarly article, but it doesn't appear mention the topic, it is referenced for the vertex coordinates of the constituent components. The final two sources are pages on the constituent components separately. The external links appear to be the only places where this component is mentioned outside of this Wikipedia article, but they are self-published and extremely brief. There is some bewildering coverage in something called The Daily Star, but this touts itself as The Daily Star is the global home of fun. [...] Whether it's appointing the galaxy's very first Extra Terrestrial Reporter to cover all the latest alien news or getting our body language experts to reveal the secrets that miserable celebrities didn't want you to know. so it seems no better than a tabloid. Keep: Hello! I started this page a while back and have continued working on this page. I did not chime in when the page was previously put up for deletion as I wholeheartedly agreed with the reasoning for deletion: the only mention of the subject was in passing in one article (that has since been removed as it was from a pseudo-blog owned by the label who released the song it discussed), and while she has continued to craft hits of all sizes (she is a songwriter), there were no awards at the time to further prove notability. However, much has changed since the deletion, as Q3 2023-2024 has been a banner season for her career:

(1) A Billboard magazine article ([29]) discussing an elite writing camp her publishing company put together (of 11 members) that has since appeared on virtually every K-pop album that has broken through in the United States market (nicknamed "the Hit Factory"). Not only does she appear in the cover photo and additional photos, but the article mentions her past and present placements as well as a few mentions of personal life.

(2) A songwriting award (win) from BMI - arguably the largest songwriting/publishing governance organization, as the song she co-wrote was ranked in the top 20 of pop songs in the past year based on radio airplay, club play, live performances, and TV commercial placements.

(3) A songwriting award (nomination) for "Wild Ones" - a large country-pop single (2x Platinum) this year that is already being discussed in several Grammy award songwriting and performance categories (to be announced next month in November).

(4) She has since co-written/produced virtually an entire major label album (female rapper Coi Leray's COI), receiving her first Billboard Top 10 single as a writer, as well as several songs with David Guetta that became hits in the European / Australian markets. Comment: Finnish names for random places around the world are not encyclopedic; however, Finnish names for parts of Russia that used to be a part of Finland are encyclopedic, and the same might pertain to Sweden and Norway - Finns/Kven are a recognized minority in Norway and some places in Norway e.g. Porsanger have official Finnish names. Indeed, there is a Finnish exonyms for places in Norway. Perhaps there also should be a Finnish exonyms for places in Russia, and maybe Sweden, and this main Finnish exonyms page be an index for those two/three. Remove the rest. It might be better to have an article about Toponymy in Karelia instead of focusing on the exonym aspect, as it might be difficult to separate Finnish and Karelian names, and Karelian names are not exonyms anyway. There could also be an article about Toponymy in the Karelian Isthmus, which is a special case, since the all the names were changed there in the 1940s. This would discuss both the old Finnish/Karelian names and the Soviet replacement names. Delete. There are literally thousands of active languages in the world, many are quite obscure. Keeping the articles of the "List of ...ian exonyms" with seemingly random selection of entries and practically no sources offered for verification (this article actually is of this type) will be a very bad precedent, as it will be inviting hoaxes (this is not the one, but who will be checking spelling of, say, Bangkok in Rotokas?). I do not foresee much trouble with, say, Finnish exonyms for places in Karelia (with, say, [31] as a source for the list) or Finnish exonyms for places in Sweden. But this seemingly random list includes, say, one city in Cyprus. Why Cyprus? Why one city? I understand the need for the dictionaries of geographical names, they make sense, but should be reasonably complete to be useful - attempt to include one here would surely run against WP:NOTDICT. The name of this article is not List of Finnish exonyms, but Finnish exonyms, so this article should not be a list article. I have no problem with removing almost all of exonyms here, and retaining only illustrative examples within the article text. There is a good-quality geographic exonymic dictionary available at https://kaino.kotus.fi/eksonyymit/ which we should not try to duplicate. We only need to add an external link to it. List of names of nationalities and languages can similarly be found at https://www.kotus.fi/julkaisut/nimijulkaisut/maat_paakaupungit_ja_kansalaisuudet Again, no reason to include that list in the article. The general principles of conjugation of place names can be discussed based on https://www.kotus.fi/ohjeet/suomen_kielen_lautakunnan_suosituksia/suositukset/maiden_nimien_taivuttaminen

(In fact, almost all prior chairmen of this club have an article on the Turkish Wikipedia, which has very similar notability guidelines to ours and an active community to enforce them.) Since the time that they served was in the pre-internet era, it is not easy to find them online. There is one newspaper source already cited in the article from 2001, from the Turkish newspaper Zaman, but the Internet Archive is down, and the newspaper itself is no longer active. A previous AfD last year decided that this article should be merged into MrBeast Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Chris Tyson (2nd nomination), and was recreated this year by a user with only 54 edits total [32] While the misconduct allegations that have come out since that discussion have signficiantly enhanced the coverage of this individual, I still think that it should be deleted/redirected for a number of reasons. 1. This individual has basically only been covered in the context of coming out as transgender and misconduct allegations against them, which is entirely within the context of their relationship with MrBeast (WP:NOTINHERITED), and given that their relationship with MrBeast has ended it seems unlikely that they will get any followup coverage in the future. Both aspects are already adequately covered in the main MrBeast article. While this isn't technically a BLP1E, it's not exactly far off. 2. This article since its recreation has been a massive target for serious BLP-violating vandalism which continually comes back despite having been semi-protected numerous times over the last few months and seems unlikely to abate in the near future. Merge This is a difficult one to judge. It is very close to BLP1E. I don't know if any (official) charges were made against the subject? The reason I ask is that if there are criminal charges then this may drag on and result in further information being added. Obviously, WP:CRYSTAL applies as to what might happen in the future. Merge? Probably? I was expecting this to be a keep but adding "-beast -mrbeast" to the Google searches returns only non-RS stuff. Some of it is people involved with Tyson having their say, which is fair enough, but most of it is cynical drama content and other worthless slop. However, I do have a warning: Merging this will not stop the disruption. It will only move it to the merged article. We may even get an increase in disruption as the content would be in a higher profile article. Delete as a very wordy and hard to read substitute for run-of-the-mill line(s) in a railroad timetable. As such, all the arguments of WP:NOTTIMETABLE, WP:NOTADATABASE, WP:ROTM apply. The list apparently does not mention the background of how can convex polyhedrons be defined, rather adds a table by marking each of the cells whether they have such specific properties. Delete probably. This is essentially redundant to List of Johnson solids, which is better. The only main difference is that this one also includes the regular and uniform polyhedra (including extra entries for specific cases of prisms and antiprisms), which as the other list notes, are sometimes excluded from being called "Johnson solids". Having a whole separate article just to address a difference in naming convention seems unneeded. The fact there are infinitely many convex polyhedron, so adding more in this table is pretty useless and damaging audience computer. There are too many charateristics on specific detail whether they are belonging to this class polyhedron or not, and the table is completely unfinished yet. Pyramids and bipyramids has infinitely many. Prisms and antiprisms has infinitely many. Platonic has five. Archimedean and Catalan solids has thirteen. Johnson solids has ninety-two.
