There was a whole lot of inaccuracies concerning the Toubon law, probably copied from incompetent journalistic commentary, while the text of the law is available on the Web! David.Monniaux 10:50, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Mr Allgood

[edit]

I recall that this phrase was actually coined by Toubon's publicist at the ministry, in a quip to an English-speaking journalist. --Duncan 08:50, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

The Toubon Law is not controversial in France

[edit]

I think that should be clarified. Foreign citizens/companies may not agree with it but I've never heard French people being against it. The translation of ads is not that big a deal anyway, providing French language documentation when selling stuff is much more important, and when most stuff nowadays comes from Asia, it's a given anyway. I'm sure native English speakers wouldn't buy things with only Chinese/Japanese documentation. Aesma (talk) 10:14, 21 March 2013 (UTC)[reply]
