Welcome!

[edit]

Hi WayneMokane, and a warm welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have enjoyed editing as much as I did so far and decide to stay. Unfamiliar with the features and workings of Wikipedia? Don't fret! Be Bold! Here's some good links for your reference and that'll get you started in no time!

Most Wikipedians would prefer to just work on articles of their own interest. But if you have some free time to spare, here are some open tasks that you may want to help out :

  • RC Patrol - Keeping a lookout for vandalism.
  • Cleanup - Help make unreadable articles readable.
  • Requests - Wanted on WP, but hasn't been created.
  • Merge - Combining duplicate articles into one.
  • Wikiprojects - So many to join, so many to choose from...Take your pick!

Oh yes, don't forget to sign when you write on talk pages, simply type four tildes, like this: ~~~~. This will automatically add your name and the time after your comments. And finally, if you have any questions or doubts, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Once again, welcome! =)

Yeah, I saw your message. Thanks a lot for the welcome. I'm still going through some of the intro articles and all that fun stuff. There's a lot to go through to become acclimated to Wikipedia. Lavishlova (talk) 15:29, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That does seem to give some good practice with tags and templates. Quick question, how do you generate the geographic coordinates I always see in articles about geographic features, cities, etc.? Interesting, by the way, that you are an objectivist. I have read The Fountainhead, and I have Atlas Shrugged on my bookcase, but have not yet read it. I enjoyed the first, and I liked a lot of Ayn Rand's ideas. I didn't necessarily agree with all of them, but she is an excellent writer with a fresh perspective.Lavishlova (talk) 18:07, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You might want to add John J. Mack to your watchlist

Since you are his alleged pseudonym. Buffyg 19:14, 21 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, the funny thing is this guy (guys?) keeps trying to alter my nick in "clever" ways which almost always end up sounding like "Cocaine". Seems like Transference to me. --WayneMokane 04:26, 27 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I noticed you tagged several sentences. See the article talk page. I provided specific quotes from the source to back up the assertions. --Phenylalanine (talk) 23:13, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reason(s):

IP block lifted.

Request handled by: -- zzuuzz (talk)

Unblocking administrator: Please check for active autoblocks on this user after accepting the unblock request.

Apologies if I haven't done this request correctly. I think my IP was mistakenly identified as an open proxy. This IP address belongs to my desktop computer at work, and I'm fairly certain my employer is not running an open proxy, at least intentionally. --WayneMokane (talk) 21:19, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Note: Referred to open proxy team[1] for verification —DoRD (talk) 22:04, 24 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
