Four spellings

[edit]

There appear to be at least four spellings of this god's name: Honir, Hönir, Hœnir, and Höner. We ought to pick one and be consistent with it. I'd make the change, but I don't know which is the most accurate (or most representative of the pronunciation, etc.) Jonathan Grynspan 07:18, 30 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Hœnir is the standardized spelling. Let's go that. - Haukur Þorgeirsson 22:50, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

African?

[edit]

Wherefrom comes the notion that Hoenir was an African deity? --Sparviere (talk) 18:19, 28 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

...or that Hönir himself was descended from Africa? I can't find any such information anywhere. Skrofler (talk) 14:16, 6 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Personally I think it would be a very interesting story if Hönir, or any other Norse god, had connection to Africa. Unfortunately, I think this claim is not only wrong, but quite absurd. I have not been able to find any source that can verify it, and I propose a revision here unless the author can bring forth something to substantiate this claim.

From a quick investigation it turns out that the person who wrote this has been reprimanded for vandalism several times. I say is enough reason to go about and edit the article.

Yeah, that's outright vandalism. I didn't notice it before. I've removed it. :bloodofox: (talk) 10:07, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
