Reference to Ktunaxa Placename

[edit]

The reference to the Ktunaxa word for Nakusp citing "Keeping the Lakes Way by Paula Pryce" is wrong. It is the reference for the Sinixt word as the book is about Sinixt people. I have tried to delete it but (Skookum1) doesn't believe me as i have offended him, somebody help me on this one, please?

For the record pg 154 of this book also has the Sinixt placenames as documented by Verne Ray and James Teit for Arrowhead (kospi'tsa), Kuskanax Creek north of Nakusp(ku'sxena'ks), A site south of Nakusp (tci'uken), a large winter village across from Revelstoke (skexi'kenten),to list just a few. There are no ktunaxa names in this book that i am aware of but most defineately nowhere near pages 154. This is obviously a mistake! Is Ryan Busbhy actually a notable person? I can find no mention of him anywhere. TastyCakes 17:28, 24 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I've commented out the map coordinates until they can be updated with the actual location. (The current ones are for Nanaimo, not Nakusp.) Sorry that I don't have the time to find them myself right now... --Ckatz 04:47, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

fixed, thanks for pointing it out. Qyd (talk)06:05, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]
thanks yourself - what quick work. I like the upper right header - much cleaner than in the main body - nice! --Ckatz 06:46, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have uploaded an image of Nakups beach, but there is a large blank space above the image. I cannot see how to deal with this on the edit page Jakking 23:34, 29 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WP:IMAGE would teach you all about it. And thanks for the image. --Qyd 02:04, 30 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nakusp, British ColumbiaNakusp – Unique community names do not take disambiguation per CANSTYLE. There is no primary topic dispute here, there aren't even notable secondary uses. Target is redirect to current title. Skookum1 (talk) 03:23, 19 March 2014 (UTC)[reply]

My name is Shane Giofu and at some point in the very near future, I will update the place names listed in this article so they properly reflect the orthography the Sinixt and other Interior Salish groups currently use.
