I agree that the term describes mechanisms that feature a mixture of electrical and mechanicaltechnologies. Good examples are the electric typewriter, a uniselector (used in the first automatic telephone exchanges). However, it can also be argued that a loudspeaker, microphone, pieze-electic lighter and many more devices are electro-mechanical. User:Rjstott

Quite. Rather than expand this article to include everything electrical that moves, it might be better to delete it. Or perhaps it could become just a list of all electromechanical phenomena, with links to articles. -- Heron
