Problem in page:

"However in February 1941 the US Navy decided to use the Bofors gun as well, and the Army then agreed to in order to simplify production."

This sentence has a missing word or phrase, but I am not sufficiently knowlegeble to provide it.

... Army then agreed to xxx in order to ...

Logic would dictate that the army converted its M7 orders to additional M5 orders - is this what happened?

Good point, I've re-worded it. BTW, it' not entirely clear what the timeline is. The part about Sperry comes from an article on Singer's war-time work. How it is that Sperry would have an "M7" before an M5 existed seems a little odd. It's also not clear what happened to the M7, it appears that the Army planned on using the M5 on their 37s and then Bofors, so what exactly was the M7 going to be used for? Looking at the only mention I can find for it on the web, it appears the M7 was in fact a much simpler device, but there's little to go on.
