Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, 138.162.0.42. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your circle, your organization, its competitors, projects or products;
  • instead propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies.
Please read Wikipedia's Conflict of Interest guidelines before editing any articles related to the United States military or government to ensure you are in compliance. Thank you

Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Wikipedia. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. —slakrtalk / 05:09, 24 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove content or templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Northrop Grumman MQ-8 Fire Scout, without giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Navy Personnel Research, Studies, and Technology has been reverted.
Your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline from Wikipedia. The external link you added or changed is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. I removed the following link(s): http://www.facebook.com/NPRST.Research.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! --XLinkBot (talk) 19:23, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or change content without verifying it by citing reliable sources, as you did to Watch Hill, Rhode Island. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Listing a book title and author name in the references section of the article is not sufficient to address verifiability. --Orlady (talk) 16:22, 8 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

@GeneralNotability: just curious why the ip sock tags linking this account to Kumioko were removed? Thanks - wolf 03:04, 11 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Thewolfchild, I don't see anything that looks like Kumioko activity from this IP in two years. While I suppose it is possible that they are still using it, I don't see any value in an IPsock template at this point - if they come back on this IP, we know how to handle them, sock tag or not.
