I think this article shouldn't be moved, it should be expanded! I remember a lecturer in pragmatics (while studying linguistics at University College London) talking about maxims and... well I can't remember exacly what it was but let me tell you this, it was damn interesting and although I can't remember it too clearly I am certain that maxims carry some sort of significance in pragmatics and it deserves to be mentioned in this entry! (although I could be mistaken)Mackanma 00:40, 8 May 2005 (UTC) So I just realised I was thinking about Gricean maxims and they are indeed linked to on the disambiguation page, sorry, ignore what I said.[reply]

I removed all the drivel, leaving nothing but a definition. I'd delete the article, but there are lots of links to it - can one create a REDIRECT page that redirects to the wiktionary definition? - DavidWBrooks 19:23, 2 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

"The result of the discussion was keep, no consensus." Why? All four votes in the AfD were for transwiki and delete, except the two who didn't bother with the "transwiki" part (of whom I was one). As I said on the AfD page, the deletion was uncontested and didn't even need to be AfDed. (Brian G. Crawford said it was contested, but I see no contest anywhere.) So, what's up? I'll re-add the {{prod}} template in a day or three, but I'm notifying SushiGeek first. --Quuxplusone 03:39, 13 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

This is because the votes were split. And after consulting with NicholasTurnbull about it, he said that it should end in "keep, no consensus". Thus, with a split vote (and you would have had to specify that you weren't bothering with the transwiki part, I had no way of knowing that), that was the result. But I'll change it.
