Dont know how to change it, but the link to the John Hancock Center on the skyline picture redirects to "Your Mom." Very funny. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 143.43.233.124 (talk) 17:46, 1 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Image change

Moving image here due to unknown license

The image currently in this article, while very nice, does not have any image licensing tag, although the edit summary says it is fair use. Given the uploader's confusion about image licensing (changing it to public domain and fair use), and judging from the comments on his talk page, I would guess the fair use assertion is questionable. I have uploaded a photograph that I took, although it is not as nice as the current photograph. I'm moving that one here until this issue is resolved. — Knowledge Seeker 09:08, 7 Mar 2005 (UTC)

But how many floors?

[edit]

OK, great article except it does not say how many stories tall the building stands. My recollection from years ago is that it is approximately 80 stories (floors). I have just checked and the answer is 83 floors. Will add. --Blainster 7 July 2005 22:31 (UTC)

I was just wondering if this article could be made bigger something like the John Hancock or the Sears Tower articles. I mean this tower is the 2nd tallest in Chicago.

construction style

[edit]

Doesn't this building have a similar design to the New York World Trade Center towers 1 and 2? If so, it should be added. --Kalmia 09:35, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

ligthing

[edit]

(!For many years, the lights of the adjoining Prudential Building [One Prudential Plaza] were turned on to form a cross at Christmas. In later years, the shape was changed to that of a Christmas tree. I don't recall any similar display in the Standard Oil Building, and wonder if this information is accurate.!). moved another editor's comments from article page. Inflation left out

[edit]

It says that it took half the cost of the building to put on the marble but this is very misleading if inflation is left out. The statement is not clear to whether it was or not but I am thinking inflation was not factored in.

Tenants

[edit]

The list of tenants should include Xerox Corporation (the company that I represent), which recently signed a lease for 12,000 square feet through the year 2017. Ariel Capital Management also does not appear; they leased 32,000 square feet through 2021. A press release with these details is available at Wells Real Estate Funds. —Kpp4492 15:16, 24 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Willis vs Sears

[edit]

I think the Willis v Sears naming is good here. It says Sears when it was, and should.Chadbailey (talk) 00:35, 25 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Home to the Microsoft Technology Center Chicago

Microsoft has regional lab facilities, and Aon houses the one for Microsoft's Chicago office (Midwest Region). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Scottsimms (talkcontribs) 21:50, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Mid-America Club

[edit]

Room should be found for brief mention of the Mid-America Club, which is located 1,075 feet high up on the building's 80th floor (and which contains dining facilities etc.) It is among the world's highest urban dining locations.

To a limited extent; this is arguably a curiosity along the lines of being a modern version NYC's Rainbow Room and former Cloud Club. It warrants mention as a feature/ tenant of the Aon Center.SecretName101 (talk) 16:29, 10 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
