Cyprus

[edit]

Cyprus has no land border with any other country. It should not be shaded green. 94.224.26.244 (talk) 18:40, 8 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

SVG over PNG

[edit]

@Jeffhardyfan08 I don't understand why you keep reverting my replacement of https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Island_nations.png with https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Island_nations.svg. Your argument is: "The PNG has greenland. Unless someone can recreate it with SVG with Greenland, this PNG is staying."

I don't understand this for two reasons: Greenland is not a country, and this is a page about countries. In addition to this, no one needs to recreate an SVG to add Greenland. Anyone can just edit it. That's the point of an SVG.

Edit: I now see that you are the one who added Greenland to the PNG, which is a misguided decision as Greenland isn't a country.

However, you also tried to add Greenland to the SVG, but seemingly didn't end up doing it. If you believe so steadfastly that Greenland should be on there, why not just add it to the SVG and replace the PNG here?

Greenland is a country apart of the Kingdom of Denmark, Therefore it's a country. Also i reverted my edit to put greenland into the svg but i used a PNG to SVG converter and that didnt work. Jeffhardyfan08 (talk) 20:25, 7 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Greenland is a territory of Denmark, which is a country, but the "main part" of Denmark is NOT an island and therefore disqualifies both Denmark and Greenland from being considered an "island nation". Axem Titanium (talk) 04:14, 9 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sealand

[edit]

What about sealand? I mean, they are a micronation, but, sealan. Stumblean (talk) 03:10, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

1) they're not an island and 2) they're not a country. There are two criteria here, and its fails both of them. Canterbury Tail talk 12:36, 15 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
