Useful information

[edit]

I have a great idea. How about something useful for the article, like information on the release schedule, on the delay in the American release, on whether there has been / will be an anime, that sort of thing. Retelling of the plot and detailed character descriptions might be common on Wikipedia, but it's still not what we're supposed to be seeing here. 68.193.249.211 (talk) 11:33, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I suggest some commentary on the series' setting: the main character comes from early 1920s Japan. The historical accuracy of this depiction would be useful in this article.Penelope Gordon (talk) 00:18, 10 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merging Character Pages

[edit]

I've made a similar statement on the original Fushigi Yugi's talk page concerning this.

The character pages relating to Genbu Kaiden have limited information that is mostly plot summary centered around the character of the page and their statistics. They may eventually be deleted as a result. I suggest that instead of having so many free-standing articles, that they be merged into a compiliation page for all the characters in Genbu Kaiden or the pre-existing List of Fushigi Yūgi characters page. 142.58.82.39 (talk) 22:43, 25 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

All the character pages have now been merged into List of Fushigi Yūgi characters. Most of them lacked the notability to stand on their own. If there are disagreements, please discuss before trying to remake the page. A22 (talk) 22:47, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Redirection Query

[edit]

According to the page, 'Shigi' redirects here. Any idea why? Aside from being a brief term for the title, which doesn't seem all that strong a connection. Bit unusual there, can anyone advise? Justin.Parallax (talk) 11:25, 25 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I would assume it is because one of the main antagonists is named Shigi.

Fair point, I wasn't aware of that. In which case, can we say that the name is unique enough in fiction to warrant a redirect to this article? I simply don't know enough about Japanese names to be able to determine for sure. Justin.Parallax (talk) 09:32, 30 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I have no idea, even though my knowledge of japanese names is somewhat large i rarely hear the name Shigi. --Refuteku (talk) 14:51, 1 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Merge?

[edit]

As the article stands, it doesn't seem it has independent notability. I mean, the characters section is the bigger section and it only duplicates List of Fushigi Yûgi characters#Genbu. There's nothing more left that cannot be easily merged in Fushigi Yûgi. Fushigi Yûgi Byakko Senki should be merged as well. Gabriel Yuji (talk) 17:23, 27 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Oppose: The history of the spin-off seems sufficiently convoluted and distant from the original that it is reasonable to keep it separate. I note that it is referenced from several different sources. Klbrain (talk) 04:55, 7 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
