Who is Phil Eastwood?

[edit]

The internal link leads to the Blackburn (born and plays-for) footballer. I'll check the usual sources (and the Harrow Observer of course) and, depending on what turns up, either add to the description and change/disamb the link or remove the line altogether. Lists of Notable residents are notorious for self-advertising as well as vandalism, so as a matter of priority - as well as WP policy - they should be regularly checked over, and individuals given the appropriate links and WP:RS. • Footballer Jerome Thomas attended Hatch End High School.
  • Mark Ramprakash attended Grimsdyke First and Middle School, and played for Bessborough CC
  • Melissa Carter attends Hatch End High School. She plays Lucy Beale in EastEnders.
  • The comedian and writer Barry Cryer lives in Hatch End.
  • Mrs Isabella Beeton lived in Hatch End while writing her epic Book Of Household Management. There is now a restaurant called Hatchets on the site of her house.

Affluence

[edit]

I have two concerns about the following sentence under the "Demographics" heading:

"It is served by good transport links into London Euston and therefore has a predominantly affluent population (491st highest mean income of 630 election Wards in London {Paycheck 2004})"

My two points on this are:

1. Why the "therefore"? There are many very deprived areas with even better transport links into Euston, so there is clearly no causal connection between that and having a "predominantly affluent population".

2. Also, the numbers don't support the statement. 491st out of 630 election wards suggests comparative poverty, not affluence. I think there must be a mistake in here somewhere. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.144.46.179 (talk) 09:46, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

may have coined the name due to its proximity to a fallout shelter portal. {ref. Kelvendon Hatch. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 94.196.147.145 (talk) 18:58, 21 August 2013 (UTC)[reply]
