Well, there already are two articles now, so a "split" technically isn't needed. But for the sake of clarity, I think the two should be separate because there is way too much information on the main TV series page about spin-offs of spin-offs that aren't technically even that connected to the original series, a franchise page is far more helpful for that. There are now 3 TV series with another one on the way, more than enough for a franchise article.★Trekker (talk) 12:01, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have just opened the split discussion here since it was proposed on WP:Proposed splits, and there seems to have been some resistance to it in the past. By having it open as a discussion here, one can hopefully prevent redirection-wars as in 2022. Felix QW (talk) 12:11, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I always opposed to the split. There was never a consensus about the creation of the Franchise article (which was created by an IP). Significant discussion on this topic took place on Talk:The Powerpuff Girls/Archive 4#Splitting proposal. My main reason to oppose was that having another PPG article would serve nothing that the existent articles already accomplish on their own, since each iteration of the show has its own derivative media (comic books, DVD releases, toys, videogames, specials, and whatnot). The franchise article puts it all together, almost without differentiating, and has a couple of sections that count as Trivia. JBOOK17 (talk) 16:50, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Most of the information about the other media doesn't belong on the TV series article at all, most of it should be removed and kept on this page. Spin-offs from spin-offs don't need to take up space on the article that is supposed to be about a TV series. As of now the The Powerpuff Girls article is like some hybrid of franchise and TV series article. Imagine in the article for the original Ben 10 series had everything from the Ben 10 franchise article crammed into it as well. The TV series article should be expanded with information that is actually about the series itself, its critical reception section is way too small (in my opinion) for a series that was as big as it was for example, and academic analysis should be added too, there could be more about its influence on animation, artists it has inspired, not just a list of media from the same franchise that came after it.★Trekker (talk) 18:39, 21 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oppose like I've said before, the Franchise article only recolects information that belongs to other articles (mostly the one about the original cartoon). A desambiguation page would have been enough. JBOOK17 (talk) 01:40, 27 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Among the latest change in the article is a claim that the main characters have the traits of the "oldest, middle and youngest child." despite being triplets. Can this be clarified a bit? Which of them is supposed to represent what? Per the description in the article and my own impression:
Blossom is the highly intelligent and determined leader.
Bubbles is deceptively sweet, but has anger management issues. She is also the linguist and translator of the trio, since she speaks in multiple languages.
Yeah, I honestly have no idea what this quote means. In my opinion we shouldnt inclue it unless Craig clarifies it somewhere or specifically applies it to each character. Knowledgekid87 (talk) 06:01, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Same thing we could say about the characters representing "body, mind and spirit"; it is not clarified, neither in the article nor in the source. However, it does tell something about who they are and how the creator conceives their dynamics. Readers will assume who is who, either they are already familiarized with them or based on the following descriptions. JBOOK17 (talk) 11:53, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
