You can use my photo on the wikipedia of the plant, it is called "Skælrod" in danish :-) I'll make a link in the article.

The classification as Scrophulariaceae presumably came from the 1913 Encyclopaedia Britannica. But now it definitely belongs to family Orobanchaceae, which is recognized everywhere. Strobilomyces 10:57, 5 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Orobanchaceae article says:
Lathraea has traditionally been placed in the Orobanchaceae, but has been transferred recently to the Scrophulariaceae. bogdan ʤjuʃkə | Talk 12:27, 5 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
OK, I've changed it back. Strobilomyces 09:59, 7 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to be still disputed. BerndH put it back in Orobanchaceae; I've added a note to say 'sometimes Scrophulariaceae' - MPF 10:59, 15 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Protocarnivory?

[edit]

A number of issues. First the bulk of the lead appears to be copied verbatim from Encyclopedia Britannica. Second, the plant can either be Protocarnivorous, in which case it is equipped for carnivory but does not eat meat, or Carnivorous in which case it eats meat. The lead states that it is Protocarnivorous and goes onto to contradict that by implying that insects are digested. Third, none of these assertions are supported by any reliable source. Fourth, more recent investigations either refute the carnivory/protocarnivory interpretation or find no evidence to support it. This section needs a thorough rewrite with original wording.
