Is it just me or is there a grammatical problem with this article title? --Dante Alighieri 02:46 9 Jun 2003 (UTC)

It was also not listed as a "List of..." which is contrary to Wikipedia policy. Fixed now. -- goatasaur

and a parody of The Tonight Show.

This page is hilarious. I don't think that was its purpose, but its making me crack up. I love how the article states " An asterisk (*) indicates those celebrities who are known to have recited or sung the alphabet" - was that intentionally meant to be funny? :D -- Natalinasmpf 09:44, 3 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

What about the ever-annoying Meryl Sheep who was on back in the late-80's?

I deleted the whole astrix/alphabet thing, astrix wasn't even being used-Deathawk 03:31, 2 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Kerry/Lieberman

[edit]

Did they both actually appear on Sesame Street? I don't remember anything of them. -- user:zanimum

Verifications

[edit]

Zanimum: If you'd like to go through the article history and identify the celebrities I added to the list, you can boldface all of them. In all cases, i either saw the appearance myself, or I can cite Sesame Street Unpaved as a source. -- Dominus 16:10, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A LONG SHOT, I know!

[edit]

Does anyone know/remember the Celia Cruz appearance? She sang a song w/Big Bird that repeat the words "zoom zoom zoom" or something that sounded like it. I've had that song stuck in my head since childhood, but have no idea what it was called! PennyGWoods 07:15, 3 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

That was likely in the Sesame Street Special. -- Zanimum 14:31, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The song she sang was "Sun Sun Ba Bae." I've been singing it since I was a kid too! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jammies824 (talkcontribs) 22:26, 19 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

"Fictional" Guest Stars

[edit]

I'm not sure how (or if) this should be added, but I think it should: a section for fictional appearances, ie: "The West Wing"s First Lady Abbey Bartlet appeared in an episode in "The West Wing Universe" as the First Lady promoting health insurance or something in Eppur Si Muove (The West Wing). I'm sure other shows have made up characters that were said to have appeared on sesame street - Add it? - A.J. 02:44, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

No. Elmo and crew appear on an episode of West Wing, not on an episode of Sesame Street. However, Stockard Channing, Allison Janney, and Lily Tomlin are all listed here, as they appeared as themselves in a short clip of one episode. -- Zanimum 16:33, 20 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Is Al MacDoon a real person? Or is he made-up? If Zanimum knows about it, then contact him. -- Schfiftythree628 18:48, 28 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Nixon?

[edit]

Was I just hallucinating, or had Richard Nixon appeared on Sesame Street at some point?

That was Laugh In, a show that heavily inspired the segment format of Sesame Street. His appearance sparked a whole craze in stunt casting, that lasted a few decades, and arguably still exists. -- Zanimum 14:29, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A bunch to remove

Richard Pryor verified from youtube clip.

[edit]

I found a youtube clip with richard pryor in Sesame Street. Does that count as positive verification? Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hO3M60RO7rk. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mzennie (talkcontribs) 00:33, 4 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Recent changes by anonymous user at 207.7.161.25

[edit]

User:207.7.161.25 just made another set of additions, which I reverted. The user at this address has a history of vandalizing this page and others by making plausible-seeming additions and changes. For example, this same address yesterday changed [[Gone with the Wind to say that it started ROnald Coleman, Lucille Ball, and Joan Fontaine, instead of Clark Gable, Vivian Leigh, and Olivia de Havilland.

The changes that this user made today were similarly plausible-seeming, and I can't immediately refute any of them. But they were all uncited, and given this user's behavior in the past, I thought it was more likely than not that at least some of them were bogus.

"Angry"

[edit]

A recent episode contained a segment with a woman expressing anger at being unable to demonstrate the word "angry". Was this Meredith Viera? This WikiNews article says that Viera guest-starred this season. -- Dominus (talk) 20:16, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Kofi Annan on Sesame Street.jpg

[edit]

Image:Kofi Annan on Sesame Street.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

KISS on Sesame Street

[edit]

Never knew KISS were on Sesame Street. Any idea on where and when they appeared? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 124.176.254.71 (talk) 11:03, 9 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Dates Associated with Stars

[edit]

It would be really helpful imho for appearance dates to be added.

Has there been any movement to do this in the past? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Kitty4777 (talkcontribs) 03:30, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Forgot Wynton Marsalis

[edit]

There´s a part when Wynton Marsalis gives a monster music class on sesame street, and a special trumpet lesson to hoots the owl- and it´s sooooo cool! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 178.25.12.210 (talk) 00:30, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

cancelled appearances

[edit]

should there be a section for guest stars that were supposed to be on the show but then had their segments cancelled? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.240.12.250 (talk) 02:25, 20 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]
