Mount & Blade 2

[edit]

What term would be used to describe the development phase of Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord? I understand it's still in development, but it seems like some kind of artist's disease where they're trying to perfect it, still polishing it over five years after announcing it. I suppose it doesn't fit the definition of development hell but what does it fit? KarstenO (talk) 15:27, 12 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Spider-Man movie

[edit]

Can someone please add the 2002 Spider-Man movie? It has been in development since the 80s by different studios and it's a famous example of a movie in development hell. Stein256 (talk) 18:51, 31 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

That entire franchise is in development hell: worse, occasionally one of them actually gets made, and it's almost invariably the same movie being remade over and over again. And they're all shit.

Orphaned references in Development hell

[edit]

I check pages listed in Category:Pages with incorrect ref formatting to try to fix reference errors. One of the things I do is look for content for orphaned references in wikilinked articles. I have found content for some of Development hell's orphans, the problem is that I found more than one version. I can't determine which (if any) is correct for this article, so I am asking for a sentient editor to look it over and copy the correct ref content into this article.

Reference named "Marshall":

  • From Thor (film): Marshall, Rick (March 12, 2009). "Marvel Movies Get New Release Dates: 'Thor', 'The Avengers' & 'Captain America' Delayed, 'Iron Man 2' Unchanged". MTV Splash Page. Archived from the original on July 6, 2011. Retrieved May 12, 2009. {{cite news}}: Unknown parameter |deadurl= ignored (|url-status= suggested) (help)

I apologize if any of the above are effectively identical; I am just a simple computer program, so I can't determine whether minor differences are significant or not. AnomieBOT 04:58, 14 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Too many examples

[edit]

This article has far too many examples. It's supposed to be about development hell, not a list of anything that's ever been in it. Trivialist (talk) 10:14, 25 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]

If I'm being honest, I think we should have a separate page about a list of a list of examples rather than said examples filling up the development hell page.--King Crimson the Third (talk) 15:04, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Except that page would become overrun with dubious examples too. Trivialist (talk) 22:22, 29 April 2019 (UTC)[reply]
The user you’re replying to has been warned about his repeated attempts to insert miniature articles’ worth of his own creative writing as “examples” on this page. See his talk page for a substantial record of censure on Wikipedia across his time editing here. I concur that what he’s proposing is absurd, and further, it would be a bad idea to allow him an entire page to mangle. ComicsAreJustAllRight (talk) 15:13, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
As for your plan and the reasoning behind it, Trivialist, it’s sound and correct from where I sit. Bold moves are needed to salvage this article. Most of the “examples” in that bloated section are unneeded and should be removed. Any that remain will likely need to be pruned back substantially. I’d be glad to assist if you’d like help. ComicsAreJustAllRight (talk) 15:22, 14 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Trivialist here. As it stands now this page has too many examples that really don't add anything to the article. Sometimes less is more. Aoi (青い) (talk) 00:39, 17 May 2019 (UTC)[reply]
5 years later now, the page seems to have almost no examples. I support the idea of having a separate page for examples. Even if it gets overrun by people's personal projects, it's better than having no examples at all. 142.119.100.34 (talk) 21:30, 25 May 2024 (UTC)[reply]
