WikiProject Philippine LGUs

[edit]

Wondering how to edit the article? The WikiProject Philippine LGUs could be of help. :)

SERIOUSLY NEEDS REMOVAL OF PROPAGANDA-LIKE CONTENT

[edit]

Oh my... is this an encyclopedic article or a Local Government Unit-sponsored travel brochure? "In four decades since its provincehood, South Cotabato has already surpassed dozens of provinces establish half a century ahead in almost every aspect of development. In a short span, it becomes one of the leading provinces in Mindanao . What it got to show today are vivid result of human synergy and the richness of its resources." Dare I say there needs to be a reference for this (if one exists which I strongly doubt)?

"The people of South Cotabato are multilingual, able to communicate in Hiligaynon, Cebuano, Tagalog and English. " Does this mean 100 percent of the people speak 4 languages (plus whatever tribal dialects might exist as implied by the next sentence)? This should be restated not as hyperbole but rather as a list of languages spoken in the region.

There are a number of other examples in which this reads more like a Soviet-era propaganda page than a proper Wikipedia article but these two changes would be a good start. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Odysseusatm (talkcontribs) 13:52, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Province ranking

[edit]

(@SchreiberBike:) Provincial ranking in the infobox is based on values excluding General Santos City, see List of primary local government units of the Philippines. -- P 1 9 9   15:59, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]

@P199:, Thanks for the note. What you say makes sense. I'm glad to see that there was a good reason for the difference. SchreiberBike talk 17:28, 20 May 2014 (UTC)[reply]
